cruise control
Cruise control (also known as speed control, cruise command, autocruise, or tempomat) is a system that automatically controls the speed of an automobile. The system is a servomechanism that takes over the throttle of the car to maintain a steady speed as set by the driver.
Hi. So I took my MG4 to a dealership today to get the latest software update (I'm now on R63) and whilst there I asked them if they could also update my cruise control software because I'm sick of the car slowing down like crazy around the slightest bend... they refused to do it tho saying they...
Went on motorway this morning and tried cruise control, all fine until starting to go on a slight incline then the car started to slow down from setting 60mph to 50mph. At this stage i took it off Anyone experienced this?
I do not like adaptive cruise control. Urgh, how do I get normal cruise control where you just turn on and increase the spread or decrease the speed yourself
Driving my MG4 Trophy home from Kent, I got the message "please take control of vehicle" in red on display twice. Both times I was driving in cruise control, OPD, lane keep assist disabled, on a dual carriageway when the message flashed up and the car dramatically lost speed as it dropped out of...
I've rarely had the opportunity (or motivation) to use ACC but a recent longish trip on fairly fast straightish highways seemed like a good time to try it again. Sadly, despite an OTA firmware update and a 20,000 km service earlier this year I found that it seems incapable of the kind of...
I think it would be a game changer for MG if the Dynamic Cruise Control (DCC) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) systems worked together to automatically adjust speed in response to changing traffic signs. Integrating these two systems would significantly enhance driver convenience and safety...
Can anyone explain, in simple terms, how to operate adaptive cruise control. I know what it does, but the actual operation as explained in the manual is very long-winded. By the time I get to another section I've forgotten the first.
I tried it out yesterday for the first time on 50 limit dual carriageway, it was fine and adjusted it's speed well, I did get a bit nervous when we came to the island at the end and had the brake covered but it slowed down well enough, the next bit was a 40 limit so I left it to fend for itself...
Hi,
I searched in the forum and couldn't find the answer to this.
For mg MG4 Trophy EV, the steering wheel appears stiff when on Adaptive Cruise Control. What I mean by stiff is if you're trying to re-align the car in the lane and move the steering wheel slightly, the steering wheel is very...
Several software updates were performed during my MG4 SE LR first service in April.
I now notice that the ACC function is behaving differently.
It appears as if switching on ACC is now also enabling LKA, with the associated unpleasant steering nudges.
Anyone else seeing this?
One of my...
When travelling to Edinburgh on the M90 near the turn off for Kinross B977 I lose my cruise control and collision warning. This has happened on the last 6 journeys whether travelling north or south. The car resets itself after about 2mls. The loss seems to coincide with passing a phone /...
On 3 occasions now, I've nudged the Cruise Control lever forward, the way I tend to disengage ACC, but it's taken up to 10 seconds before it's actually disengaged!
By that I mean the car carries on at the speed set (70mph), without slowing down, despite going slightly up hill. Also, the...
First motorway trip in the new car and I always use cruise control through the many 50mph zones.
However nothing happened when I pressed the button on the steering wheel.
Would this be related to my start-up habit of deactivating ELK & FCA?
I tried turning them back on (whilst driving) but...
So I recently got a zs ev and have notices that when cruise contol is on and I am driving on a flat road that my car will start driving above the set cruise control limit.
This has gotten me a speeding ticket the other day and I'm pretty ticked off at it.
Has anyone else had this issue or knows...
Does anyone know when using ACC whether the brake lights come on when ACC brakes due to slow/stationary traffic please? I want to know if someone following me gets a warning of rapid deceleration.
Thank you.
We drove from a bit North of Sydney to West of Brisbane (circa 1000 km). We encountered two significant traffic jams on the motorway outside of Brisbane. I set the cruise control to the posted speed limit. The traffic jam assist was terrific! It made the stop and go driving much less...
I've noticed if I drive on motorway at 70 mph and use the ACC and then use the brake to slow down, the battery will shut down. I recieve a fault and need to pull over. Shut the car down and restart and it works again. Is this a common fault or is there something I'm doing wrong?
