electric cars
An electric car, battery electric car, or all-electric car is an automobile that is propelled by one or more electric motors, using only energy stored in batteries. Compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, electric cars are quieter, have no exhaust emissions, and lower emissions overall. In the United States and the European Union, as of 2020, the total cost of ownership of recent electric vehicles is cheaper than that of equivalent ICE cars, due to lower fueling and maintenance costs. Charging an electric car can be done at a variety of charging stations; these charging stations can be installed in both houses and public areas.Worldwide, 6.6 million plug-in electric cars were sold in 2021, more than doubling 2020 sales, and achieving a market share of 9% of the global new car market. All-electric cars represented 71% of plug-in car sales in 2021. As of December 2021, 16 million plug-in electric cars were on the world's roads. Many countries have established government incentives for plug-in electric vehicles, tax credits, subsidies, and other non-monetary incentives while several countries have legislated to phase-out sales of fossil fuel cars, to reduce air pollution and limit climate change. The Tesla Model 3 became the world's all-time best-selling electric car in early 2020, and in June 2021 became the first electric car to pass 1 million global sales. Together with other emerging automotive technologies such as autonomous driving, connected vehicles and shared mobility, electric cars form a future mobility vision called Autonomous, Connected, Electric and Shared (ACES) Mobility.
Someone once told me, ’You have to invest a lot of time in comedy’.
Two years ago I fell off a mountain bike and ruined my cycle helmet. One week later I invested a new one. This time carbon fibre, on the advice of a surgeon friend of mine.
Recently I invested in a birthday present for my wife...
So, my MG ZS EV has been in and out of the dealership virtually from day one of owning it. The latest fault is a HV battery shut off fault, I have read countless threads on here and elsewhere, to discover that others have had this fault. Where it stands now, is that the dealership have their...
This isn't new, but I was looking at the last set of Zapmap charger provider rankings from November 2023 and wondering if these rankings reflects your experiences?

Is it necessary to service MG electric cars only at our local MG dealer or can we use any garage who undertake work on electric cars.
If we were to do this could it affect the warranty?
Two interesting articles recently. One is from today's Grauniad with the headline "China's share of Europe's electric car market accelerates as UK leads sales." The article notes that the MG4 is Britain's best-selling electric car at the moment. It further points out that any prejudice against...
Hi, this came up in another discussion and may help people who are bit confused about all this talk about killer-wots and owwww-ers. The experienced will already know it.
Energy is measured in Joules (J). Power is measured in Joules-per-second (J/s), which is also known as Watts (W), a...
I am not sure of the reason for the constant bad press electric cars get - my experience is good:
Very pleased with my first long trip to Hull from Croydon, and back, in MG mk1 LR.
500 miles covered in total.
Two rapid charges at Newark (Osprey) and Cambridge services (Ionity) - both very rapid...

OK, it's the Daily Fail, and it's going for the controversial click-bait, but this is an article published today, referring to events last December, so it's not old...
This week we went away for a few days. This was the longest journey we have planned since owning our ZSEV LR so obviously a little apprehensive. We went from Rochester to Bath area, set off fully charged and by the time we arrived we still had 50% charge left so was well impressed. We had...
I've found that my car tends to over report distance by around 2% compared to plotting precise points with GM.
Not sure which one will be more accurate, thoughts ?
Edit - sorry, UNDER report distance is what I meant to say, car says 98, GM says 100 .
1. Overtaking slow ICE cars uphill because it still comes out at less than 5p per mile ?
2. System resetting the drive mode so other half doesn’t realise I’ve been ragging it in sport mode ?
Over to you…
Hhere is some more data for you. May be rubbish data and click bait, may be not.

Gathering people’s thoughts on whether people think the new MG4 has faired better or worse against other first launch electric cars when they were first launched.
My thoughts would be that software issues plague every single new launch cars, including ICE cars – see ID3 for example. Even Tesla...
Rain is of biblical proportions down south these last few days and it's like fording a small river on some roads.
Am I right in thinking electric cars have no problem with flooded roads unlike ICE which stall when the water is too deep?
