power consumption

Electric energy consumption is energy consumption in the form of electrical energy. About a fifth of global energy is consumed as electricity: for residential, industrial, commercial, transportation and other purposes. Quickly increasing this share by further electrification is extremely important to limit climate change, because most other energy is consumed by burning fossil fuels thus emitting greenhouse gases which trap heat. The global electricity consumption in 2022 was 24,398 terawatt-hour (TWh), almost exactly three times the amount of consumption in 1981 (8,132 TWh). China, the United States, India and Japan accounted for more than half of the global share of electricity consumption.

"Strange" readings from the Current Journey Power Consumption meter

I've not seen this issue raised before (I think) so, here goes: 2022 MG5 Exclusive LR, pre-facelift, about 14,500 miles "on the clock". I tend to try and switch periodically to the Current Journey, Power Consumption meter whilst "on the road" to confirm that I am driving "to maximum...

    Power consumption at motorway speed

More for info than anything. I drove most of the M5 and M6 this week back and forth between Devon and Yorkshire. On the way there, I rarely went above 60 mph. Consumption rate was 4.2 m/kWh. On the return, I set the car to 70 mph and the consumption dropped to 3.1 m/kWh. Range was severely...

    Conservative driving...

Lately I've been driving my ZS very much like a granny to see how low I can get the power consumption. During my drive last night with aircon set to 23c (26c outside), normal mode, with no passengers and trying to keep pedal input under 20% I was able to get it down to 9.9kwh/100kms, after...

Safe, or pushing it? (charge rate from 3 pin plug)

This is probably not MG4 specific, so feel free to move if not appropriate. [Edit: Moved to General Chat.] I have this new charger (10m extension) that I've been using as I don't have a proper home install (and can't), it plugs in to the 3 pin mains. It has an amp limit setting which I've been...
