quote
In graphic design, a pull quote (also known as a lift-out pull quote) is a key phrase, quotation, or excerpt that has been pulled from an article and used as a page layout graphic element, serving to entice readers into the article or to highlight a key topic. It is typically placed in a larger or distinctive typeface and on the same page. Pull quotes are often used in magazine and newspaper articles, annual reports, and brochures, as well as on the web. They can add visual interest to text-heavy pages with few images or illustrations.Placement of a pull quote on a page may be defined in a publication's or website's style guide. Such a typographic device may or may not be aligned with a column on the page. Some designers, for example, choose not to align the quote. In that case, the quotation cuts into two or more columns, as in the example shown. Because the pull quote invites the reader to read about the highlighted material, the pull quote should appear before the text it cites and, generally, fairly close to it.Pull quotes need not be a verbatim copy of the text being quoted; depending on a publication's house style, pull quotes may be abbreviated for space or paraphrased for clarity, with or without indication.A disadvantage of pull quotes as a design element is that they can disrupt the reading process of readers invested in reading the text sequentially by drawing attention to ghost fragments out of context. At the other extreme, when pull quotes are used to break up what would otherwise be a formless wall of text, they can serve as visual landmarks to help the reader maintain a sense of sequence and place.
I've heard that the price of service plans can vary between dealers and that sometimes it's cheaper to buy through the mg portal.
I can't get a quote using the portal yet because the car reg isn't recognised as I don't collect it until Thursday.
Presumably you can take out the service plan...
I have my Tesla MYP insured with Churchill. I wasn't expecting any trouble adding the X Power to the policy but they refused to even quote for it.
I checked out SAGA since I'm sprouting grey hairs - they wanted over £1600 - guess that was a "don't bother us with this nonsense" quote...
So in around 4 weeks time, our first service is due on our X-Power (not a bad effort - 14k miles considering of those 12 months, it was sat at the dealers for 3 months).
Anyway, still waiting for the quote for the actual service from the supplying dealer (Hendy Poole) whose customer service has...
Time to renew our insurance and having to shop around. One question that comes up is "is your car fitted with a tracker?".
How do other ZS EV owners answer this? Obviously we can track the car using the iSmart app, but I'm not sure if insurers mean a third party fitted tracker or something more...
We have two quotes now, but neither one mentions servicing the EV side of the car, has anyone else had a quote for that.
The way I see it is the engine is an engine and can be serviced much cheaper elsewhere so why pay dealer rates.
Just been quoted £293.36 for 2nd year service at Waylands Oxford. Just wondered what others were paying if worth shopping around. Also told £95 for the tesla charger update.
Thanks,
Simon
Hi all,
So I’ve finally got my new registration for my car seems more real now ?
Insurance seems to be quite expensive, I’ve checked on confused.com and getting a quote for £513 for the year has anyone looked anywhere else to get other quotes? I’ll check the usual comparison sites but...
I’ve received a quote from my dealer for a service plan for three annual services and the first MOT for the cost of £471.39. What does everybody think, it’s sounds expensive to me because I thought ev sevicng would be cheaper because no oil change, filters etc
Anyone had more success than me in getting a repair job done? Had a small crunch to my MG5 first week of September 2023. As of Jan 8th 2024, after two vists to the MG dealer/workshop and one to their nominated body repair firm I have yet to even get a quote for repair, let alone get an order in...
Insurance is set to renew in a couple weeks after buying the car in April. I've been bracing for the worst, but it's even worse than that and comparison sites only give me higher quotes.
Model: 23 reg SE LR (phase 1)
Renewal quote: £1380 (literally double what I was paying last year for my old...
Perhaps I’m being a bit harsh but had several quotes to supply and install the Zappi charger. All around £1200 to £1500. Watched the guy install - took about 3 hours (including him talking to his base). The charger itself, I believe is around £700 so these guys are on at least £100 per hour...
