Sóc Trăng () is a city in Vietnam. It is the capital of Sóc Trăng Province. It was upgraded from a town (thị xã) to a city following decree 22/2007/NĐ-CP on 8 February 2007.
From early November, when we picked up our S5, up to Christmas, we had a predicted range of approx 285 miles for SoC 100% (220 miles for SoC of 80%).
Since Christmas, our range has dropped to approx 242 miles at !00% SoC (195 miles at 80% SoC).
So I thought "Time to give it a balancing charge"...

Maybe it's just me, but sometimes the app doesn't display some values after refreshing them (or, in terms of the inside temperature, it's usually a deprecated value). I think that's very annoying because if you just want to know how much range you've got left, the solution always was to refresh...
Not sure if this is a known issue or not, but having picked up my mg5 facelift on Tuesday, the dash always shows 100% in the big image, but 80% in the bottom left:
Any thoughts? Wondering if this is a known issue (perhaps related to updates) or something else.
Thanks
Ian
My car is (without doubt) set to charge limit to 80% but on a few occasions recently, it has charged to a displayed 90% SOC overnight. Pretty odd, it hasn't done this historically. Anyone else ever experience this?
The following observation I should have done when car was newer. Or better, new, with periodic data points as it aged. Alas, I was occupied with other things.
Car was charged to 100% and after a ~4hr rest:
HV= 349.xx
SOC =100% info 103.xx% car scanner
HV/LV delta = 170mV. Car scanner (...
More as a comment because when we took delivery of the MG4 64 kWh is was at 100% and showed 420 km. Now, 2,500km later and charging to 100% (prior to a long journey tomorrow) it's risen to 449 km. Maybe not a large difference but I am wondering whether the MG 4 is building up a picture of our...
I've just acquired and OBD scanner, and playing with it to see what it does. It has %s for SOC and SoC, one the same as the car display, and the other a bit higher. Google doesn't seem to know about this, it only has info on SOC1 and SOC2.
I think I saw it mentioned on one of these forums, but...
Hi everyone.
MG5 PFR Exclusive
I just got an obd scanner - was hoping to use with ABRP.
ABRP default SOC reading is consistently 6 or 7% less than displayed on the dashboard.
Downloaded Torque to try with that, and lo and behold it also reads the same as ABRP.
So either the official...
Hi All
As a relative newbie who bought my MG5 Trophy (72 plate) in November last year, I'm hoping to tap some of your great knowledge on something that baffled me on Monday.
I had a house guest who I took to Heathrow Airport from Surrey. I had used my Intelligent Octopus charging regime to get...
Hi Folks,
Last couple of months my SOC is showing health mode between 40%-80% rather than 20%-80%.
Bought the car new (MG 4 exclusive/trophy) new Mid march this year.
Anyone else see this happen? Or am I missing something?
Thanks
David
Not happy that when you select EV mode it keeps dropping back to Auto. Yes I understand parameters must be met in EV mode, but why doesn't it revert to EV automatically?
So thinking of a work around, does anyone know what code in the EMS sets the 50% SOC level in auto mode? Thinking this could...
Having finally resolved exactly why I could not see any results using Car Scanner Pro and OBDII dongle (I had selected the wrong profile in the app!!) I now see a strange anomalous difference between the car's own display and the data in the app.
Specifically, the car shows my State of Charge...
Has anybody heard anything about when MG will release their API, so clever people like OHME can start actually getting SOC to better schedule charging?
I picked up my car from the dealership on the 1st Dec after they had it for three days while they investigated the problem first identified to MG in August and documented in threads/rapid-charger-connects-but-fails-to-charge post-248066 . The software was checked and updated as necessary - as of...
Anyone else suddenly seeing that the target SOC doesn't work anymore?
Keep setting 70% on the app only to find it charges all the way up.
I'm using an ohme home wall charger never had an issue but lately it's ignoring the set target
I recently got the base model MG4 (called Excite 51 in Australia, SE SR in UK) and though initially not expecting it to have one pedal driving (OPD) found that the latest update before delivery indeed made it a feature of even this model. I got used to the subtly different driving style it needs...
