£1bn fund for EV charging

The government's probably waiting for their masters in the oil and gas industry to tell them when they can release the money. What's the betting BP and Shell will get their bids approved first? :)

Its good to see Tesla expanding their network of the Model 4 Superchargers around the country with more offering charging for any make not just Tesla's and reasonably priced charging too some as low as 26p Per Kw (Off Peak and subscribing to their £10.99 Subscription) but these would only be more beneficial to business drivers.

The advantage Tesla have is that they only make electric cars, unlike the legacy automakers. And Elon realised that those electric cars would need the equivalent of filling stations. So they manufactured "their" chargers for "their" cars, which made the whole process simpler.

Now they've opened up their chargers, it's then up to the legacy automakers to adapt their EV's to work on the Tesla network.

No adaptions required in UK/Europe AFAIK, they are standard CCS chargers. Different in the US of course where they used their own proprietary connector.

Do the new v4 chargers with contactless, that are open to non Teslas, work with MGZS EVs which are unable to charge at the other Tesla chargers (the ones before the v4 contactless ones) that are open to non Teslas. Or do you need the circa £120 update to use the v4 ones open to non Teslas.

Not entirely true. The CCS connectors are standard, but the handshake software is not, which is what is causing all the problems with the different manufacturers.
