Apologies if this has been asked and answered before, couldn’t find this issue when I searched for it- I’m getting this error message in my 2020 MG ZS.
I get a beep for a few seconds when I start to reverse, which then stops and the message in the attached photo comes up.

Anyone seen this before? And is it fixable without going to the garage?

I've not seen that one before. Have you tried the 12V battery disconnect to reset the system?

Since the camera works, it's parking sensors ... Could be anything, starting with rear parking sensors needing cleaning ... I had these warnings few times on various cars, sometimes when it was raining, sometimes when they are covered in mud, sometimes when they get pass their prime ... Do they beep when you come close to any objects?

See whether it helps cleaning them, check there is no water around, see how it goes over the next few days ...

I cleaned the sensors, didn’t make any difference.

Anything else I can try?

When I was researching about wing mirrors not folding when you lock the car a couple of people mentioned that they had faulty rear parking sensors sending too many messages so I was thinking that the sensors might go faulty. eg Mirror doesn't fold

Can't think of anything else ... maybe check fuses are OK (assuming there is one for parking sensors, check the instruction manual).
No fuse that I can find in the book for the parking sensors unfortunately.

I got on to the dealer who told me, as it is out of warranty, it will cost 141 euro just to do the diagnostic test to see what the fault is!
Only then they will know what the additional costs would be on top of that.

That’s too much, I’ll have to learn to live without it or fix it myself.

I just had this fault start and I notice it affects the folding of mirror upon starting of the car and control of windows from the driver door. When it was warm and sunny for a day it started working again and then it went again. Did you solve it in the end?

Sounds like maybe water getting into one or more sensors.

If water gets into the sensor, it might see this as "Something is VERY CLOSE" to the car.

Had this on a previous car, but it was easy to diagnose, because the car would show where it felt something was VERY close.

Popped out the sensor, resealed it and popped it back in and problem gone.

As said, this was another make and model, so dont know if this is even possible on the ZSEV
