Hi - my 1 month old ZS Hybrid with 1100 miles has started showing this message when entering the car in the morning. Anyone else had this problem? It has a Road Angel Dash Cam fitted, but understand that these can be left on as a security/anti theft system and cannot believe that such a small drain would cause the problem. Car starts fine, and the engine immediately kicks in. Initially MG iSmart worked when scanned but now doesn't - assuming that the car's electronics are limiting access to what it considers are non-essential requests.

The car has had 4 good runs of 130 miles plus but only local runs during the last week. No other problems with the car. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi mine did the same at just under 3000 miles battery warning light on for a couple of days then went flat could not get car started called mg assist it had 3v got it going but it failed their battery test ending up in dealership. They had it 4 days recharged it up did diagnostics and battery tests found nothing wrong.I now have the car back with an advisory to monitor been fine up to now had it back 5 days. Still unsure as to what caused this I do not do long journeys but enough for the battery to keep charge anyway fingers crossed it good for now.

Thanks for that David; have just been for a 10 mile run and the warning is still appearing, but have managed to get the scanner on the MG iPilot to work and it's showing the battery at 12.6v which as I understand it, it 'accpetable'.

Have unplugged the Dash Cam overnight anyway to see what happens there

From way back and a car with smart alternating problems I bought a voltmeter plug in the cigarette lighter socket which I have moved from car to car and it gives me assurance the battery is charging as I travel along.

Hi
Just had scan through the user’s manual, the MG car I know about charge the 12v battery from the High Voltage battery as there is no alternator on the car, I am not sure about your car, if you know what a alternator looks like have look for one. The one thing I did learn is that if the 12v battery is that low it can’t start the car and need a jump start DO NOT ATTACH BOTH JUMPER CABLES to the Battery on your car. Look up in the user manual how to jump start your car very important how it’s done.
I would as a MG technician how to use a 12v battery charge to boost the 12v battery then see if runs down and the message comes up again.
