It’s main function is to run all of the cars 12v systems - which are most of them as the high voltage pack is used to power the drive motor to propel the car. It is also used to engage the high voltage battery pack into ready mode. ? if you lift the bonnet you will see the 12v battery on the rhs of the ‘engine’ bay ?
As above, but beware - a low/flat 12v battery will prevent your car from starting! When using electrical components, it's best to do it with the car in ready mode so you don't kill the 12v battery which seems easy to do based on reports on here.
Every body out there, being an eighty year old, not very bright person, I've just found the means of saying "huge thanks to every one who has been kind enough to respond to my enqiries " Diolch yn fawr iawn " (thank you very much)
As others have said the 12 volt when the start button is pressed allows heavy duty relays to
connect the 44.4 Kw battery to the main electric circuit.
Be away that the 12 volt battery is always connected to electric system otherwise the hand free Key
system will stop! Also it runs in the background electrical equipment all the time. Ensure the indications is above 12 volts.
If very low just recharge the battery using a normal charger. Information how is in the manual!
