Hi everyone,
I bought my car of a main dealer in July 2024 which it was just serviced at 15k miles.
I do a lot of milage for my work so now I am at 30500 miles, and the car is booked for 30k service at the same dealer next Wednesday.

All my cars in the past used to be out of warranty so I am new to that. As far as I know I need to keep on top of my service to keep the warranty running until 80k miles.

The question is if the milage now at 30500 and the car is booked 6 days from now do I need to stop driving it until I get the service done? other ways if I carry on driving it the milage will go up past 31k miles will that affect my warranty for being 1k miles late for the service?

Also on some of my previous cars I would get a service light on when the service is due does the mg5 have that?

Thanks in advance.

In a word and in my experience no.

I wouldn't want to go more than 1k though.

It would be an extremely petty dealer that refused any warranty work (if ever required) so close to the the actual mileage covered.

Thanks for the reply, any idea if the car should give me some warning or light when the next service is due because until now I had nothing on the dash!

No warning from the car, it relies on your memory just like the old days!

The warranty gives leeway of 1000 miles/28 days for servicing.
The FL does give you warnings (garage forgot to tick the box after one year service), now it’s complaining based on mileage driven?

You have it booked in, that should cover it.

So whether you can use it a bit more will depend on whether the last service was nearer to 15,001 miles or nearer to 15,999 miles?

Yes, I should have added that my comment was relevant to my own (PFL) car :)

Mine was done at 15070 so the lady on the phone said I can't pass 31069 or the warranty will void.

Yeah mine is (PFL) too so I don't think it will have service reminder built in.

As a matter of interest, the dealer for my other (Ford) car sends me a letter reminding me when the service is due so it doesn't have to rely on high tech!
