There’s no shortcut to switch off just the A/C
What you can do is quickly switch off the HVAC using the physical button under the centre screen.
This will also set the air to recirculate to avoid external odours entering the cabin and it’s obviously to be used for brief amount of time.
Generally speaking, on the MG4, switching the A/C off is actually going to give you more problems long term (build up of bacteria and excess humidity) and IMHO not worth the saving in terms of energy.
You are IMHO better off setting the HVAC to ECO, and adjust vents and fan speed manually if necessary. and leave it at that.
One of the latest SE upgrades to the HVAC module and infotainment unit has fixed the temperature and vent selection issue so AUTO now does the right thing.
