I tried it out yesterday for the first time on 50 limit dual carriageway, it was fine and adjusted it's speed well, I did get a bit nervous when we came to the island at the end and had the brake covered but it slowed down well enough, the next bit was a 40 limit so I left it to fend for itself and it got very clunky but when the traffic stopped it pulled up with space okay, then we dropped to a 30 limit and it was utter crap it didn't know what to do at all so I dropped out of it.

So a good idea but not very good in practice so fast roads only I think, such a shame as in traffic would be its forte really, it stopped and kept it's distance ok except to be safe I had it on max following distance but then it took forever to set off when we moved again not that adaptive then and I was getting glares from the following vehicle as I didn't move of soon enough.

Having had similar technology on my other car for 2 years, I find, given the price of the MG3 the Autonomous tech works pretty well, tackling sharper curves in the road than the system in the other car.
However, like all these systems it's not without issue, particularly from the point of view of sometimes mis-identifying parked cars, and slamming on the brakes!
I'm guessing you haven't tried it in full lane assist and traffic mode. It's in this mode that the real magic starts, watching the steering wheel turn by itself for the curves in the road never ceases to amaze!

Not sure I'm up to that yet, I'm still not trusting it to get me from A to B yet.

I left the screen in light mode, but when I went down just now it came on it dark mode, it could be that it's early and it still thinks it's night in auto mode if so then that too is a bit poor as I didn't put it in auto mode.

It may well be but I used to run a fleet of vans and there were a couple that were awful to drive but they had nothing wrong with them.

Vehicles are made by people and machines both can have problems.
