Several software updates were performed during my MG4 SE LR first service in April.

I now notice that the ACC function is behaving differently.

It appears as if switching on ACC is now also enabling LKA, with the associated unpleasant steering nudges.

Anyone else seeing this?

One of my favourite features is unusable at the moment.

Are you sure you've not accidentally selected TJA rather than ACC? (After the update a long press on the ACC button will switch between ACC and TJA).

You can confirm by looking at the top-left of the driver display - if you can see a steering wheel symbol then TJA is selected rather than ACC. Simply press and hold the ACC button (middle left on the steering wheel) and the steering wheel symbol should disappear and you'll be back in ACC mode. :)

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try it when out and about tomorrow and feed back.

Still getting to know SE SR on R33... and did find using the MG Pilot screen to swap between ACC and TJA frustrating, then saw this. However, just tried it out and the long ACC (wheel button) press does not work (just switches ACC or TJA on/off when button released). Do we know which 'update' this comes in please?

OK, it looks like following updates the car came back in TJA mode (which I've never used) , rather than ACC, something to watch out for.

Long pressing the steering wheel button doesn't do any mode switching, so i mustn't have that update, or its Trophy only.

Thanks for your help.

Good to be back to functioning ACC ?

I think they forgot to update the steering wheel module.

Had the sotware updated on the service and somethings have changed, but I wanted the updated AC screen with the bigger icons, well, I did not get that but when I turn on the cruise control the power steer pump stops and the steering gets very heavy. Needless to say it's going back and they have said the want it for 3 days!!

Also I am still on R33 as the dealer says that MG will not authorise anything else!

Frustrated!!!

Does your ACC/TJA speed change by 1 or 5 mph per press? Update SCUK001 is what applied the 1/5 change and also added the long press feature ... 1100R33 is the infotainment update and doesn't affect the ACC/TJA operation.

Edit: this reply applies also for @Logan T

Short Press 5mph, long press scrolls up by 1mph at a time... albeit getting the 1mph to adjust to what I want takes care/luck ;)

and also added the long press feature
95% sure this does not work. Confirm it should be, say with ACC active (Green) a long 'wheel press' (middle button LHS) should swap it to TJA active (Green)? I find a long press, when released, just deactivates it...

Thanks for the reply (y)

your ACC/TJA button configuration hasn't been updated.

It's exactly as you've stated ... SCUK001 (a mandated service campaign update) does the ACC change and adds the ACC/TJA switch via the button. This is a separate update to 1100R33 Infotainment but should have been applied when they were doing 1100R33.

No - other than the fact that you still have 5 mph increments means SCUK001 can't have been applied, or at least not properly.

Thanks ... but I do get 1mph increments if I hold it down (rather than blip it) .... seems I've either got half of it, or I'm not understanding the ACC/TJA long push properly

You're not understanding ... after the update you get 1 mph per blip (up/down of the left joystick), 5 mph per hold. Before the update the functionality was reversed, i.e. what you are seeing. :)

And the long press function is of the steering wheel left middle button, not the joystick. (i.e. the button you use to activate ACC at the current speed).

I told my dealer the bluetooth on my phone kept dropping and it was annoying constantly having to reconnect it - mumbled something along this lines of a Audi could do this no issues nearly 20 years ago.

They updated mine to the newer style of head unit interface (R59) with no questions off the back of that line of fault.
