As the title says, the alloys are in pretty bad condition and are flaking from the inside out - think MG will warranty or shall I run them until MOT says I no longer can?

I've not curbed them/etc they just look like poor dip quality from the factory if I'm being honest.

You can only ask. But don't hold your breath. Good luck. 🙂👍

Yeah, I wasn't sure if anyone else had a similar issue, I can't seem to find anyone else with alloy issues in the forum so I'm thinking maybe the previous owner cleaned them with a harsh chemical or something similar but I wouldn't expect them to clean the inside of the alloy...

A committed detailer will clean the wheels inside and out.

Good detailers are excellent and can work minor miracles. But the OP said his alloys are flaking. So a detailer no matter how good, isn't gonna sort that. 🙂👍

Aluminium will turn black if it meets a caustic based tfr.

Bio based cleaners(non caustic) are better for alloys.

My car is a 2021 model and the wheels look perfect, if a tad bland.
Do you get your car washed at hand wash places? If so they use some pretty strong detergents on the wheels that can cause issues.

Nah I only wash it myself and the most it gets is a spray of water, I don't put any cleaning solution on alloys apart from maybe some snow foam that might get on it from the main wash.
