I have just installed a Motorola MA1 Android Auto dongle, so I don't have to keep connecting my phone.
Obviously when connected by cable, my phone switches to AA, and 'takes over' from the Bluetooth connection to the car.
Problem I'm having is now with the dongle being Bluetooth, the 2 connections, AA Bluetooth and car's Bluetooth, are fighting with each other for the phone's connection.
Will I have to 'forget' the car Bluetooth connection in my phone, or is there another way?
I don't always use AA, and I find my music streaming is louder via normal Bluetooth than AA, so it'd be handy to not have to do that.
Cheers

The dongle I bought uses 5G wifi which gets around the problem. Have a look in the infotainment setup screen and see if the dongle and phone have different listings. If so, disable the phone bluetooth to the car.

Firstly, it all depends on your phone - newer phones can handle more than one connection at the same time and the car can also share your Bluetooth phone with another device.

My AA dongle from AliExpress (£12) is also Bluetooth only, all I had to do is first time click to disconnect (not "forget") the car from my phone (been some time so can't remember whether I disconnected from the car screen or from the phone) and after that the phone connects to the car if AA dongle is not plugged in and as soon as I plug it in, it connects to it.

as Gadget Geek - says, there are some cheap WiFi/Bluetooth dongles on AliExpress ...
