Android Auto - Pre-production hardware Not for resale message/watermark?

Got my MG4 SE Long Range on Friday. Pretty impressed so far, although there are a few things we're missing from our Leaf, 360 cameras mostly, (maybe I should have forked out for the Trophy). The main issue I currently have is when I plug my Samsung Galaxy A40 into the car when Android Auto comes up it has a message in the middle of the screen that says "Pre-production hardware Not for resale". Is anyone else experiencing this? It stays there like a watermark overlaying any app I start, (maps, Spotify etc.).
 
Have you done any update of the car system?
It seems your car system is actually on a special mode for engineer employee of MG or something like that. Check the version details and let us know

I thi k that message says it on everyone's doesn't it. It does on mine and believe it's updated

Try connecting your phone to the USB A port (the one on the left). Someone on FB mentioned that it worked for them.
 
Same issue, plugged into port A on the left. I emailed my dealer about it; not that annoying though as long as it gets fixed soonish.

Hope it is a software and not a hardware issue and gets fixed quickly.

I've got the same model and I've connected 2 different Andoid phone and it's showing the same things, I will probably ask to the car dealership where I've bought beacause it doesn't even let me connect with the MG iSmart App on my phone
 
Some owners have to accept permissions to get the sat nav to work accessed from the main screen not the sat nav screen. Does the same apply to Android Auto?
 
It could be that the software is still running with a development certificate for Android Auto, rather than a production certificate. If so, they may be able to replace it OTA, otherwise it will likely be an update at the dealer.
 
To be clear I think this is a problem for everyone using Android auto on the MG4. I don't know anyone who doesn't have this issue and there's nothing wrong with our phones. I'm taking mine in to look at a tyre pressure issue and I'll ask also.
 
Hi,I got the very same issue with my ZS EV last February.
In a couple of months MG released 3 updates.
Went to the dealer and they update my software in a couple of hours.
Never came up since…
Enjoy your new car,I will test drive it next Tuesday…

Yeah, hopefully a software update will sort it out. MG4 is lovely, I think you'll enjoy your test drive :)

Yes, this appears on my trophy on USB A port. AA constantly restarts too. Front USB C doesn't provide power or connection to AA. Dead?

From the manual, “USB port 1 can also provide‘Vehicle-Mobile Phone Interconnection’ function.” - This refers to the USB A port. I think you can only use the USB A for AA/CarPlay
