Any recommendations for steering wheel lock? Security device?

Hiya, I've a week old MG5 trophy in drive and we have a few holidays coming up. We live in a road where car thefts are common. Was thinking of getting a steering wheel lock as a deterrent for the period I'm away. Looked at disclock, stoplock etc and unsure if they are any good. What type of steering wheel locks will be compatible /good? Any recommendations on other security devices/measures please?

Steering wheel locks are a simple visual deterrent, as long as it fits, brand doesn’t matter.

How Secure Are MG Cars?

I worked in a Citroen dealership for 14 years and never heard of a Citroen being stolen. One customer had two Mercs stolen so bought a Citroen, problem solved. Simples!

If I was in the market, for a steering wheel lock. I would seriously consider one of these.

Personally wouldn't entertain one of those full steering wheel covers. Far to bulky and cumbersome, to take on and off. And storing the bloody thing.

Thank you. The problem I've read in reviews is that most steering wheel locks are so heavy that they damage the steering wheel if left for a couple of days. And I'm going away for a few weeks. The problem with Milenco and another popular brand on Amazon - the lock barrell being faulty and about 20% of the time, the keys will get stuck and fail to unlock them even with correct key. Sounds scary. I was hoping if anyone has actually used any steering wheel lock for long term (1-2) week use?

I wouldn’t have thought many people would consider stealing an MG5. It’s also one of the few new cars that doesn’t come with locking wheel bolts.
