I have had my ZS EV for 2 months and the first month all good. Now every time I use Apple CarPlay for Spotify or Apple Music it only plays for 20 seconds then cuts off.
I disconnect cable and try again and same again cuts off.
I have tried it with 3 different I phone 11’s and it’s the same with all the phones.
I updated maps yesterday but made no difference.
Any ideas?
Do I take it to the dealer? This should be covered by warranty ?

Just checking you've also tried a different cable? And that your cable isn't a 3rd party supplier?

I had just tried that and seems ok now
Both cables are original so fingers crossed
Thanks

I still have this problem and posted seperately about it. Nothing I've tried resolves it, Carplay just seems to drop out when it wants, and if I've noticed (quite often I don't) I unplug and plug it back in. It's a pain TBH, so I tend to use Bluetooth instead.

I’ve had no issues with CarPlay what so ever are you operating on the most recent IOS update, which of the top of my head is version 14.1?

Nope - iOS 12-point-whatever as I "only" have an iPhone 6 with no plans to shell out on another.

Can you not try to update, mine is a 6S and just check its IOS 14.2 maybe this is where your having so problems..I only move to my daughters old IPhone because of issues with the Android Auto; effectively doing the same as what you’ve noted, but now it’s working fine.

Nope, the 6 is out of support now (except for critical security updates) at iOS 12.4.9. The 6S and Plus are able to be updated to the latest version of iOS, but knowing Apple's cycle, that won't last much longer.

My issue with CarPlay is that the system does not recognise there is a phone connected even tho the settings are set to CarPlay to work even if phone is closed. That simply does not work on my car, the phone hast to be opened for the system to recognise there is a phone there.

I can't check just now, but isn't there a setting in iOS that says soemthing along the lines of "use Carplay when this phone is locked"?

Yes, that has already been switched to play when closed, makes no difference, still won’t go to CarPlay when plugged in, phone needs to press home button before car recognises there is phone there.

Other than the usual advice, I'm at a loss I'm afraid. I can't get Carplay to work reliably and whilst I like its features, to make sure I'm aware of incoming calls in case Carplay has disconnected, I tend to use Bluetooth.

It’s strange as I was having these issues with Android Auto, but since switching to Car Play it’s been perfect...

Settings>Touch ID & Passcode. Go to "Allow Access When Locked" and flip the switch for USB Accessories.

My Apple CarPlay was intermittent to start with. After changing the no name cable for a genuine Apple one, it’s been rock solid since.
