Auto tyre pressure reading MG ZS: does it sometimes go wonky?

My 22 plate ZS EV is showing a tyre with lower pressure than there should be (error icon / flashing yellow on affected wheel), yet when I pumped it up it not only still shows the error but is 0.1 bar lower than before. Anyone else experienced this?

Yes. I use a pressure guage as a check.

ZS EV LR ?.
Inflate all 4 tyres on the car to 2.7 Bar ( give or take 40 PSI ) and check the pressures again with reliable tyre pressure gauge.
The car will self relearn the settings on the next trip out .

This is the gauge that I like using.
Strong in construction and not too bulky at the valve.
The aero covers on the ZS EV do not give you a lot of spaceTBH but it will fit without removing the cover just !.
I have checked it for accuracy against about three other units and I find it reliable.
You will find the recommended tyre pressures on the chrome sticker below the driver door latch, as you open the door.

Thanks to you both. I have bought the AstroAI Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge because of the lance-like tube that will make it easier for me to engage the valve than the Hacquno - the damnably difficult valves. In fact, the space around the valves - and all 4 wheels are the same - is so small I am seriously contemplating cutting/grinding out some of the plastic wheel trim - my wife's Renault Zoë in comparison has super easy to reach valves and with arthritis in my right thumb I need all the help I can get. One last question: do you know of a tool that would make the dust cap removal super easy?

John - Before you start attacking the aero cover with a dremel etc ?.
Just check that the covers have been installed in the correct position in the first place.
Although all of the slots / gaps look the same, I am told that one slot on the trim IS slightly different to all of the others.
Another option to make removing the dust caps a little easier, is to replace the original ones with the extended versions !.
Very cheap to buy and will easy your frustration for only a couple of quid !.
Failed that, its plan “B” and dremel the cover I guess ?.
This fix had crossed my mind a while ago I have to say.
Try the extended dust caps first, could be a cheap and easy fix.
Don’t be tempted by the fancy alloy caps, as they react to the valve stem over time and make it very difficult to get them off !.
Something like this may do the job.

I keep a spare pair of pliers in the car just to start taking the caps off. They tend to be difficult to budge in the cold weather and you can’t get your fingers in very well.

Hi Omega22, I also keep pliers etc. But Lovemyev - extended dust caps?!!! Seriously? Anyway I've ordered from your amazon link. Now one final FINAL question: my pump - runs off the 12V socket, has given me years of good service - has a slow and painfiul screw on fitting Is there a push-and-pump option like at a regular petrol station?

I reckon that might do the trick, Eclectic. I assume the threaded male end will mate with the male threaded inside on the electric pump - and I notice in reviews that NOT having to unscrew means the escape of air from the pumped up tyre is nil.

You assume correctly - the threaded end screws onto your pump, and that’s it! It makes the whole job so much easier, connect, inflate, remove.
With the MG valves being so awkward to access, I’m amazed the pump doesn’t come with this adaptor.
