Noticed today that on the TPMS screen in the 5, the pressures are in bars and I can't find a setting in the car or settings menus to change it to psi, is there an option somewhere ?
No you can set to PSI in the car settings.There is no setting. We just have to get used to Bar.
On the MG5? It's not the same as the ZS. You can select miles or km, but nothing else.No you can set to PSI in the car settings.
I used the Carista app on the Prius to change some stuff that was "dealer only" changeable.There is probably something hidden away and changeable via OBDII if you know what to set. The problem is finding out how to do that without bricking your car.
I tweaked a few things that way on my last car (a Mondeo) - adding proper tyre pressure values rather than just a low pressure warning, getting a digital speedo on the right of the dash etc.
I was thinking of upping the pressures by about 3 psi, so it looks like 2.4 bar should do it.2.2 bar = 32psi
2.27=33
2.34 = 34
2.4=35
Probably not worth trying to change the display inside the car...?
I'm not sure what's self learning about it; it reports the current pressure.I was thinking of upping the pressures by about 3 psi, so it looks like 2.4 bar should do it.
Is the monitoring system self learning after changing the pressures like on the ZS ?
Learning what the new normal pressures are and when to warn you the pressures are low.I'm not sure what's self learning about it; it reports the current pressure.
I've gone for 36psi so 2.4-2.5 bar. The ride is slightly less forgiving but it should help economy at 70mph.
36psi seems high. What is the recommended pressure?I'm not sure what's self learning about it; it reports the current pressure.

I cannot speak for the MG5 as a ZS owner but the ZS recommended settings are 33PSI for one driver but if the car is fully loaded is 42PSI and these figures are when the tyres are cold.36psi seems high. What is the recommended pressure?
To be honest, I set them high in advance of a long, fast journey to improve efficiency and didn't feel like lowering them again afterwards. They give you a bit more feel for the road through the steering wheel at the expense of a slightly harsher ride which, overall, I prefer. I'll keep an eye on the tyrewear but I tend to wear the shoulders more anyway. The only other concern would be driving in low grip (ice or snow) which would prompt me to reduce the pressure again.36psi seems high. What is the recommended pressure?
