Baylis Gloucester - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

Communication is not great, I was quoted March delivery for a new ZS EV, but was only when I went in there a couple of weeks before delivery to ask if we were still on track that they told me the delivery date was pushed back to June... No up front comms about the change in dates, and apparently this was the 2nd change of date too.
 
I approached this dealership with two defects on my car, badly warped under-tray and a very noisy air-con pump. They took my car and listened to me, approached MG and took up my case with MG. The result is they replaced my under-tray and replaced my air-con pump which they found had been running with no oil in it.
Throughout, the service and customer care was second to none. I have no hesitation in recommending this dealership to others who may be struggling with theirs
 
I am thinking of an MG5 (pre FL) for my next car. Went to Baylis Gloucester a few weeks ago as they had a used one in stock and I hoped to have a test drive. The car in question was buried behind 2 other rows of cars on the forecourt and had not been cleaned in ages. Once the salesman fetched the key we found it did not unlock, so he had to use the physical key, the 12v battery seemed totally dead as the car wouldn't start, not even a glimmer of a light on the dash. Not impressed!
 
I bought my Xpower from them, really great car.
However, I concur with previous posts that comms was not great. Multiple emails were not replied, probably because I ask a lot of technical questions which they don’t know answers.
The two main points backing this up were despite me asking 3 times to ensure pending software updates were applied to my (ex demo) model, they were not, even though salesman assured me they were. Also the car was bound to previous user so iSMART App would not work. I sent follow up emails on this and zero reply. Embarrassing and unacceptable. I did speak with their technician who was excellent, apologetic and embarrassed on their behalf.
My local dealer, Richmond Bognor was excellent, applying pending updates and communicating professionally.
Baylis should know better, especially in this day and age, on Trust Pilot, their reviews are lousy!
