Hi there, What's the best OBD reader and app to use on an MG4? I've got a Carly for my other car (a Toyota) and it's really useful for checking codes and turning certain functions on/off. I'd like the same for my MG4 but Carly doesn't do MGs. Any/all suggestions welcome. Thanks!

Car Scanner

Best is subjective. I have this one below which works well with Car Scanner.

Thanks! Does it goes as far as to allow you to permanently turn off any of the forward safety alerts? I have an issue with the car doing emergency stops when it sees a car approach on a side road. Would love to be able to permanently disable this - rather than at the start of every journey.
Cheers!

I suspect not, due to EuroNCAP requirements for the safety feature to default to on.

But I'd be interested to know if you can programatically turn these features off via CANBus, rather than buttons on the screen, even if that needs to be done for each journey.

Set the AEB sensitivity to low. This setting is remembered and stops the false emergency stops.👍

I suspect the same, but think it could be worth a try. PS I can't turn off LKA in my Yaris via Carly.
