I’ve taken off the awful wheel trims, the alloys underneath are much better looking!
Got MG centre caps £14 on eBay!

In theory it would increase consumption 1-2%, but I have always had my doubts that the covers do much on the MG4. They do seem to make a small difference on Teslas.
The alloys are flush and flat, I can't see getting 1-2% reduction but will keep my eye on it - no difference yet!

Yep, look much better. The rather obvious follow up questions are: 'how long before someone makes an actual aero-optimised alloy wheel (that looks good)', then 'is a cheap steel + plastic cover a better option anyway?' (Noting that the plastic covers currently widely used are not 'handed', so cannot be working with optimal drag reduction, as one side of the car (wheel wise, for avoidance of doubt ?) is 'going backwards'...

I've wondered about losing my wheel covers because they don't fit neatly and flush but have warps sticking out all over which I thought would probably remove any 1-2% advantage they might be there to give, and of course they weigh something so that might be a 0.1% weight advantage!

Yeah I have this same issue! They've never been flush since day one, they stick out slightly in spots

My wheel trims were exceeding tight, took a lot of effort to get them off - defo not coming off by themselves!
