We picked ours up yesterday but have found it needs quite a heavy slam to close the boot hatch properly so you don't get the warning indication. Seems more than should be required. Also noticed that when opening it, it opens with quite a loud clunk, almost to my ears as if it's not aligned properly and it's under pressure.

Anybody else have this or could it just be a possible issue with ours?

I did at first but it settles in after a few days

Mine was the same, and didn't get easier. I booked it into my dealer and they fixed the problem easily. Just needed an adjustment and now it shuts with the lightest click! He said something was "set in way too far..."

I have the same problem. I have had a look at the boot hatch catch and I can't see any way to adjust it.

It's not a sensor, it's mechanical rather than electrical. I think it's more likely to be the d-ring on the boot housing - sticks out through the plastic trim. Ours seems a little low. The tailgate clasp closes down into it.

I had the same issue with my MG5. I reported it at service but the dealer said they’ve all like that. Oh yeah, never heard that before. Presumably your car will be similar. The keeper is fixed with 2x 10mm bolts. Remove the plastic trim to see it. Slacken the bolts, adjust until the tailgate shuts with a click. Five minutes in total.

Thanks. Not sure what the "keeper" is so will leave well alone till service next year but thanks
