Boot spare light socket or something else ?

Does anyone know what this might be ? I initially thought it was a spot for a boot light in left hand drive vehicles . When I opened it up , there was a loop of cable or wire like a pull toggle . Could be see if there was a wiring socket behind it….

That looks like an emergency charge flap release cable but would be on wrong side wouldn’t it?

I think that's exactly what it is. Emergency release for the charger socket flap.

My mistake, I thought it was the same side as my mg4 but it isn’t.

Good to know , as I could not find any reference to it in my manual .
