So the other day went to change the tyres and so while on the jack went to look at the brake pads which I thought by now were nearing their end at 120,000 km. But was surprised they are still only half way and discs are as new with no edge at all. How much were these expected to last? The lifetime if the car?

It's one of the fallacies that the anti-EV people keep posting - that EVs are more polluting. The reality is that any negligible increase in tyre wear (which has generally been disproven) is more than offset by a massive reduction in brake pad and disc wear ... 100k+ miles from a set of pads is not unusual for an EV that has regen braking. In fact the main thing is to make sure that you do actually use your brakes from time-to-time, to stop the discs from rusting up and needing changed prematurely. :)
