Out of interest have you ever used it?

He’s not talking to the efficacy of the product, nor is he attacking you or what you said. He is trying to point out that the phrase “new and improved” they (the company) used in their marketing is a dumb statement because an item can’t be both those things at the same time.

I had to do the same on my son's beamer to reattach to the windscreen. I used araldite although (in case it failed) I purchased 'Loctite rear view mirror bonder'. So far (8months) still good on the beamer!

I'm not (and wasn't) having a go at YOU (or the product itself) ... I was venting frustration at stupid marketing people who use that phrase. It is a logical fallacy as something can't be both.
