My MG4 Trophy had its 1st service last Thursday. This included a software update. The first time I needed to charge the car following this was on a trip back from Gloucester where I stopped at Reading services which has Gridserve chargers. I paid and connected. I noticed only the two right side of the four charging point lights on the car lit up, normally all four are purple. The Gridserve charger screen said connecting to car then said charging stopped and showed an error, unable to connect to car. The car also showed an error saying take to dealer.
I checked to make sure the car was set up correctly to receive a charge which it was. I tried three other chargers and had the same problem. I called my MG service centre, they couldn't offer any help or explanation, useless. Eventually called MG Assist who called the AA. AA man ran a diagnostic check, couldn't find anything. Asked me if I'd had a recent software upgrade and when I said I had, he said that's your problem. He disconnected/reconnected 12v battery, no difference, so towed me home. I connected to my 3 phase Zappi overnight just in case and this morning 100% fully charged??? Has anyone had a similar experience, or can offer any suggestions as to what might have been the problem?
Have a look at this thread. Sounds like the same thing. I wonder about merging this thread in.
Car not charging on DC chargers / Fault code P1EB2 Battery Interface Control Module 1 Not Programmed
Anyone have knowledge or experience of this fault code which the AA diagnosed on my 10 month old Trophy? I have been happily charging the car since new on a 7 kWh charger at home with occasional charges on fast chargers. Yesterday I tried to top up at a Gridserve 350 kWh charger. It didn’t...
