Caution before buying electric

Hi. Friends are thinking of getting a used electric MG5 but they've read about platinum from catalytic converters being stolen from petrol cars. Have any catalytics been converted to work on this model and should they be concerned?

In the same way that carbon monoxide is poisionous, could lithium monoxide be a threat?

A reply before 12 noon would be appreciated.

They could always pull up in a near fully discharged mega capacity EV, run a cable from one to the other and drain the battery that way .......
