Charging Port problem

I've experienced problems when trying to open or close the charging port. Pressing the MG badge does not always release the door for charging until several attempts are made with the car locked and then unlocked. Similarly after charging it is difficult to lock the charging door. After the door is closed and locked it sometimes unlocks when when the car is later unlocked!!
Could it be the very hot weather causing some distortion in the door? Would not have thought so because the car is kept in a garage!
I know that there is a method to open the charging port from inside the bonnet but have not tried it.
Any suggestions?

Get it back to the dealer to check, the locking system could be slightly out of alignment, have it checked to be safe.
