We’ve had our MG trophy nearly a week now and are still finding out about the car. Went to get some touch up paint from Halfords 15 mile round trip getting home I noticed a clicking noise from the front . It sounds like a diaphragm type pump maybe for battery cooling? Is this normal?

My MG5 Trophy makes clicking, tapping noises around the windscreen area when starting off.
Other group members suggested it’s the scuttle panel (covers wiper motor) rubbing against the glass and is worse in cold weather.
As a result of the information I sprayed silicon down the gap, but it doesn’t seem to have made much difference.

My AC pump ticks all the time, but I only notice it after getting out of the car and before I switch it off / lock it.

Mine was ticking from new, I reported it and was told they all do that. It failed recently and I am now waiting for a warranty repair.

So the normal response from MG. "They all do that" 🙄 And now it's failed. At least now you'll finally get it done.

Mine is only 6 months old and has done it from new. Reading these posts, I'm now wondering if its likely to fail. I guess the warranty only covers this for a year?

Mine's ticked (at a speed corresponding to how hard the A/C is working) since new - November 2022. Still ticking, and still working OK.

And yes - I did raise it with the dealer from the start, so my "concern" is logged should it fail.
