Clicking sound from brake pedal

Got a MG4 Excite 51, Australian version (ones with rear wiper and rear headrest). Had it for about 10 months, 10,000 on the odo.

Last week I start to hear clicking from the brake pedal. It’s clicking when I depress the brake pedal, does 2-3 clicks at around 10-30% force. Car also does a click when it’s just about to stop with one-pedal driving.

Sounds like relay clicking. Did some googling, looks like an issue with lots of EV’s, so probably something to do with regen?

Anyone else had this issue and what came out of it?

When the vehicle is travelling very slowly, the amount of regen reduces and hence the ability to slow down without the brakes also reduces. It feels like the friction brakes kick in to slow the car from a few miles an hour to stopped. Could this be connected to the clicking?

I know the slight thunk that happens when brakes kick in during OPD at low speed, it’s not that. This is a clicking sound. I just tried pressing the brakes when the car is in P and the clicking is still there.

Gonna try to clean the brakes a bit tomorrow, maybe debris logged in there. Also booked a service in a week’s time to check it out, as well as fix up some minor issues like rattling. There’s a chance its the brake pad/pads, though if it is the pads then I need to have a good chat with the dealer.

Is it a clicking or a creaking sound? Might just be that the brake pedal mechanism needs lube. (e.g. a squirt of WD40)
