EDIT - all sorted, 10min negative terminal disconnect fixed things!

Assuming this is a MG assistance issue? Have had zero problems with the car until today…has only just had second service last week too - just my luck!!!

Noticed the 12v battery displaying 11.8v, and then the message ‘connected but not recognised’…no cable is connected.

Tried removing negative from battery but that’s not done anything aside from throw a million errors up!

Any other ideas before I have to make the call? Thankfully car is at home

Edit - no lights on charge port at all

Trying the negative disconnect again, for longer this time - didn’t give it 10mins last time. Will report back, although not hopeful…

Sorted!! Happy to report that the 10min disconnect has everything working again…phew!!

Is there a process now for resetting windows etc after a battery disconnect?

Fully open them and hold the switch in the open position for 10 seconds then do the same with them fully closed holding the switch in the closed position for 10 seconds.

You need to also turn the steering lock to lock a couple of times.

All the other warnings will clear after a drive.

Perfect, thank you! I’ll get that sorted this morning. Thankfully it charged overnight as normal, so I’m sure that has also boosted the 12v battery too.

Caught me totally by surprise to be honest, and as a result I’ll be keeping a 10mm extended socket in the boot just in case it ever happens again.

@Diggsy, did you have the low voltage battery charging system error. When my Trophy's 12V battery dropped to below 12V and this error showed I found I could not charge the car using AC or DC. In the end I connected a battery booster to the 12V battery and that 'kicked' the system into operation.

(Full details previously supplied.)

My wife had the car yesterday so I’m not sure how the error first manifested. I just saw it when in the car later and the first thing I spotted was the red 12V battery warning and it was sitting at about 11.8V. The error ‘connected but not recognised’ was present on the infotainment screen, but I’m not sure which came first if that makes sense.

All seems good today - 12V got a full charge when HV battery charged overnight, and I reset the steering and windows. Just need to take it for a drive to clear the other errors, but hopefully all is well.

Quick scan just now from the app shows 12.8V, which from memory is pretty normal.

Seems the same as my problem - low 12V battery voltage and failing to charge either the 12V battery or the HV battery. If the 12V battery booster had not worked my next move would have been to disconnect the negative terminal. Thus I avoided the resetting sequences. I've had no further issues since that time in November 2024.

Hopefully it’s a one off for me as well. Took for a quick drive earlier and all errors were gone - in fact they were gone when I got into the car, so must’ve cleared itself after I did the windows and steering wheel earlier. 12V sitting at 14.2V whilst driving which is back to how it was before this blip.
