Hi to all....just a quick one.

For the first time since purchasing the car in Feburary this year, I'm going to add pressure to the tyres....they are a bit low near 2.4 bar.

I have not had any pressure warnings yet.

Settings should be 2.5bar/37 psi all round. Yesterday my dealership advised me to inflate to 2.7 all round to avoid over-sensitive pressure warnings.

2.7 seems a bit high.....

What pressures do folk here run at? Normal load in car, not excessive load.

Cheers!!

I've always ran 38 psi in my tyres, personal preference. My MG4 pressures are set to 3.0 bar (43 psi) when hot (after running the car for a while) which seems high to me, but that's what the dealer did. Cold they read at 2.8 bar (40 psi).

From my time working as a tyre salesman, I remember seeing the change from manufacturers placards. They used to go low, so the tyres flex more and your ride was more comfortable, then they went high pressure so your tyres had less contact patch and all of a sudden cars became more fuel efficient. What really matters is that your pressure doesn't increase by more than 5 psi between cold and hot. If the pressure increase is more, it means the tyres are getting too hot (from flexing too much). Beyond that, it comes down to preference.

2.7 will be fine , especially at this time of year ,as it gets colder the pressure will drop so you will probably most of the time be below 2.7. By the time spring comes around and the temperature rises you will have lost a few psi naturally.👍

I set my digital compressor to 37.5 psi which is 2.6 bar. (2.585 bar to be precise). This accounts for any slight pressure loss when disconnecting so that the tyres are actually at 37 psi.

I have increased pressure to 2.6/2.7 front /rearat the pump. The readout in the car when cold is 2.7/2.8., though this will drop with T. falling now.
Nevertheless, last time I checked after 86 km's the pressure had gone up to 2.8/2.9. A bit too much for me to keep it comfortable.

For most MG4 owners the stated pressures have been reported as fine. For XPower owners pressures closer to 40psi have reduced the motorway speed vibes.

40psi all round seems to be good for the X Power. Not sure about the Trophy LR though.
Thought it would be similar. 🙂👍

I set all mine to 2.7 bar 6 months ago and they've all settled down to 2.6 now the weather is cooler.

I'm setting to 2.9 bar these days, which settles at 2.7ish. I was using 2.8 (2.6) but that meant having to pump them up a lot in winter, which I can't be bothered to.

The warnings are weirdly inconsistent, it often picks a tyre which isn't the lowest and I have had warns at 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 bar on the tyre it isn't happy with. It seems to dislike my back right tyre most of the time, for some strange reason. (Maybe that is the first in its list?)

I have had repeated tyre pressure warnings so increased to 2.6 bar.
