Hello,
For those that have got their car have you installed a dashcam ? I undertand there is a usb port near the front rear view mirror but does it support the parking mode avaliable in dashcams ?

I have not been able to find a handbook for the new MG3 hybrid. Anyone who already have there MG3 could help

Unfortunately the usb port near the rear view mirror is only live when the car is started....ie ev mode and until it is switched off.
You will need to have it hard wired to operate in parking mode, my front and rear cameras are in the usb and only work when the ev or engine is running.

Have you tried looking in the iSmart app? If the manual is there then you can probably find the PDF file by connecting your phone to a PC and then searching the file system on the phone for *.pdf

(I'm assuming that the new MG3 is compatible with the iSmart app and there's the ability to bind the car to your account).

The handbook is accessible via the MG app which you can download via the menu in the car.

If you download the Connect Ismart app to the car it's on that. Also it can be seen on the Car's Infotainment system.

I have it and have Ismart app on my phone, you can do all sorts of stuff, such as turn on Aircon or heater or close windows and doors, away from the car, and masses more. Highly recommend you do this. Handbook is on there too. It tells you how much petrol you have and so much more.

Using the supplied 12V wiring with dash cams, I have wired a Fiat Tipo, Honda Civic and VW Up and the MG3 has been the hardest. The trim fit is the tightest, making pushing the cable into gaps at the top of the windscreen and A pillar harder than the other cars. The centre console has no gaps at all, so the cable is loose from the bottom of the glove box to the 12V socket. I need to find some stick on cable grips that look neat.

I have also noticed that the Nextbase does not turn off when I stop the car running with the stop/start button. Power must continue to the 12V socket until I lock the car, which is when the camera turns off.

I have now found my error, and the USB that is in the rearview mirror housing. I was wondering why the Nextbase kit includes a very short USB cable, perfect for that. At least I did not try to hardwire the camera in. Doh! The MG jumps from the hardest to the easiest car to fit a dashcam to.

EDIT - the dash cam works fine with the rearview mirror USB. The dash cam is 5V and 1.5A, the USB is rated at 5V and 2A.

I have a nextbase front and back into the mirror usb, no probs.
I had it in ZS LR before
