Interesting that you have such large dealership networks. My experience in Australia is that yes there are some very larger dealers which have multiple manufacturer products, but they are not nationwide, or even state wide. Regional group set-up with maybe five dealers as part of the group is not uncommon, outside of Capital Cities. The very large dealership model, with nationwide locations, is very common in the USA; and they have contracts to take monthly allocations from the manufacturers (regardless of whether they can sell them or not). This is one reason that the US car market is such a mess.

I got my, X Power from MG Chorley who also do Nissan. They treated me very well, so that went towards my decision. A good long test, drive, unaccompanied, was also a factor. And I think I got a good deal.
Other factors where this forum, very informative, so a knew a lot about the MG4/X Power be for I even got one, which very much helped when I picked it up.

I bought mine from Arnold Clark MG specific garage although it is surrounded by lots of this companies dealerships who generally push one manufacturer.

I did quite a lot off reading and watching reviews the test drive was final check. Which although short was decisive as ordered car right after.
