I've been trying to get a description of operation of EV and HEV modes on my ehs phev, getting varying and conflicting verbal descriptions from dealers. Has anyone tracked down official documentation.
Awaiting in anticipation.

I was looking for how each mode should operate.

Eg In EV mode will the ICE start during heavy loads like steep hills or overtaking, when battery at 0% and ICE takes over will it also recharge the battery (not what I would expect for Phev but have seen this).

Eg in Hev mode (longer trips) mine keeps the battery range at 50 miles by recharging with ICE.(I would not this from an Phev).
This is why I want a documeted description of operation, not conflicting opinions from sales persons.
Thanks for replying

Do you mean the new version of the HS you could look at YouTube or go to the mg website and click on My Mg and you can look at the user manual there.

Yes it's the new version HS Phev, 6 months old.
I've scoured the user manual and requested documentation from MG UK but that enquiry has stalled at the moment.
Many thanks

If 6 months old that a face lift of the old HS the ICE will take over when battery gets to 0% will start up if cold, you can set the ICE to charge the battery to charge the battery but would not recommend at MPG if effective a lot.

I had a 2021 HS PHEV for three years in summer I run on Eletric charge each night then as winter came would run on mix of electric and ICE as needed to heat the car, when I first got the car I ran ithe car on electric and it did 34 miles before it run out electric then set up the car to charge from the ICE which recovered 50% of the battery from Duxford to other side of Norwich which about 75 miles and did about 25 mpg.

This is taken from the guide, you can download on the MG homepage:

<<<EV Mode
In the "EV Mode", the vehicle will be driven by the (electro) motor
preferentially, and the instrument pack interface will show
" EV ".
Note: In this mode, the vehicle can still start the
engine in due time according to the actual working
conditions, and the instrument pack interface shows
" HEV " at this time.
Intelligent Hybrid
In the "HEV Mode", the vehicle starts the engine in due
time to drive the vehicle according to the actual working
conditions. The instrument pack interface shows " HEV ".<<<<

The batteries are not loaded while the engine runs. If you are in HEV mode, both the motor and the engine are running. From 120 km/h the car turns to HEV mode.

When the vehicle is in braking or coasting state, the
energy recovery function will be activated, and the motor
will convert part of the kinetic energy of the vehicle into
electric energy,

Thanks, I'll see if I can find the guide.
However I'll have to search further to find out why in Hev mode mine was recharging the batteries to maintain a 50 mile electric range!.

Matty, I wonder that your batterie was recharged im HEV mode. How many miles were recharged? Could it be that it was only recharged by cinetic energy (breaking and decelerating)?
I was travelling yesterday in HEV mode 45 km and battery went down from 74 to 72 km.
I have goolged the english manual and downloaded a german version here:
Just type in your car id and you should download hopefully your engish version.
