Why can’t the charging points for all electric vehicles be compatible with all electric vehicles!
There needs to be some form of cooperation between companies and governments to make this happen,
Yes the outputs are all different but It can’t be that difficult to make a universal plug !
 
The Type 2/CCS is the "standard" "universal" plug.
Even Tesla who originally had a slightly different one have now changed their cars to use the new standard one (unless I'm very much mistaken)
 
On my first visit to a supermarket charging point yesterday I was looking at a triple set up, didn’t have a scooby how to operate it so went online and registered with the provider,
2 cables and 1 type 2 socket, I phoned the provider and was told which one to use,
Did that and after 90 minutes only had 15% extra charge so just pulled the plug, this got me home with 6% remaining, as far as I’m concerned I’ll try not to use that provider again.

I'd suggest you have a read of a guide on charging, it honestly isn't that complicated.

You probably did an AC charge, the most you'll get is 6.6kW - that's the rating of the cars onboard AC-DC convertor. (Just uses the top socket on the car)
If you want a quick (or rapid as it's called) charge, you need to use a DC charger - that will give you up to 60-80kW. (Uses both sockets on the car)
DC charging is usually most expensive than AC charging, AC charge points are sometimes free, everyone at home does AC charging.

Thanks for that! I thought that there would be something else looking at the pugs on the charging points.
