I've got a 2021 MG PHEV which has been operating fine until last week. When I press the EV button nothing happens, absolutely nothing, it's impossible to put into ev mode any more. I know ev doesn't operate when heating, fans, ac etc are on but it's not working at all with every thing else off, as if the button is dead. Not getting any messages. The only unusual issue was a temperature of minus 10°C (14°F) overnight before it failed, but now in the low 2–3°C (35–37°F) but still not working. Doesn't work either after a longish run either. Didn't have this issue last winter.

What is battery charge level ?

It was around 50 per cent, but I've driven since so down to about 25 per cent. Seems to use the usual amount when out of pure ev mode. I can see too it is in ev mode at low speeds initially but goes into hybrid mode when over minimum speed and stays in hybrid. Just can't get the ev mode button to respond.

The problem is fixed. I'm not perfectly sure how I fixed it but I'll put details here in case it ever helps somebody else.

Firstly I disconnectedthe 12V battery, left it a few minutes and reconnected. (Ignore error messages on reboot, they'll go, the only thing I had to reset was the clock). In fact this didn't immediately fix the issue, and may not be necessary but I've included it to be thorough.

Secondly I tried to force a HV battery disconnected fault. I did this by pushing the stop/start button without pressing the brake pedal. This seemed to fix it once I started the car properly.
