Fast Charging

Hello. 3 types of charging.

Slow - sometimes called granny charging - uses the MG supplied charger and a standard 3 pin socket - get about 3.5kw/hr - AC - 10hrs+ for full charge

Fast - generally anything between 3.5kwhr to 7kwhr - home EV wall chargers supply about 7kw/hr as do public fast chargers - still AC - you need a ‘type 2‘ charging cable to use these unless it already has a tethered connection - 5hrs+ To full charge. (The MG can only take a maximum of just under 7kwhr on any AC charger).

Rapid - these are always tethered so you don’t need a cable - DC and up to 150kwhr+
the ZS will take about 50kw/hr in practice but is rated higher - can charge from 10%-80% in about 35mins or so ?

Fast - can this go up to 22kW? I ask as there's a freebie near me that offers this.

Yes you’re right - there are some 50kwhr AC chargers I believe, but the MG of course is limited to just under 7kw/hr on any AC.

^ grab a single phase Type-2 cable and you're set, that + your plug/granny charger is all you should need. (16amp caravan style if you want to do the campsite power thing too)
