Fault code

Hi all

I have a fault code but not other issues

It is U17FD(83) apparently power steering related

I can’t find a description anywhere and just wondered if anyone could throw any light on it?

It's a software error code - Frame 0x1FB Protection Value Error.
Could be spurious due to something like a 12V disconnect.
Is it live or historic?

Ah ok
comes back whenever I delete it, so I guess live.

I also wondered if it was the sort of code that could only be dealer removed? As it relates to steering?

Doesn’t seem to affect anything, should I be concerned?

It's a Level 3 event which means "Repair as soon as possible" so it isn't a show stopper.
I assume the MIL hasn't illuminated because this fault isn't designed to trigger it so he average owner would never know it existed unless there some kind of physical manifestation in the EPS.
