First electric and first MG(4) drive

First time driving an electric car today. Took the MG4 for a half hour tour around some motorways and some backroads. I’m not sure if its because I’m coming from a 2015 Fabia but it really was a really amazing drive. I was genuinely blown away. Smiling going around roundabouts! It was a seriously fun drive and really nippy. I thought the regen braking was perfect. Not quite one pedal but not far off (charge was 55% approx though).

I’ve seen some of the reports on leaking etc but I didn’t see anything on this unit. Had a look underneath and didn’t see any bulge or leaks or anything. I’m hoping these are all going to be resolved soon. 7 year warranty anyway so shouldn’t be a problem!

A lot of reviews have gone on about the seats and yes there was a little bit of poor fit on the sides but nothing that would put me off. Generally the cloth seats here top notch. Better than my Skoda anyway.

Black is my least favourite of the colours for the car and it still looked cracking in person. Definitely nicer again in person than in pictures.

Overall very impressed, mines on order. January can’t come fast enough!

I had a Golf GTi Performance edition (245bhp) and that was super-quick but ruined by the front wheel drive and poor weight distribution. The combination of drive, ride and handling is brilliant. No it isn't a sports car, but it is fun.

I had a Golf GTi Performance edition (245bhp) and that was super-quick but ruined by the front wheel drive and poor weight distribution. The combination of drive, ride and handling is brilliant. No it isn't a sports car, but it is fun.

Yeah, if you're a car enthusiast the RWD and general ride and handling combo makes the car.
As a young lad I had a neighbour who had a Sunbeam Lotus, he took me out for a ( mildly terrifying ) spin on a couple of occasions.
He was a pretty good driver though and had the tail stepping out quite a lot, catching it with a dab of opposite lock.
My drive in the 4 brought back those memories, probably why I ordered one in black like my neighbours Sunbeam ! No massive silver go faster stripe though

Ya took it onto some back roads during the test drive. Really sticks to the road.
