I tried 65mph on my first long motorway trip as I hadn't a clue what range I'd get and it drove me crazy! I now set ACC to 70mph and accelerate above that if I want to clear traffic. It still feels a bit slow after what I was used to doing but it's a compromise for range. I've found that at 70mph a lot of other people are doing a similar speed (must be all the ones I used to overtake!) so it doesn't feel too bad. I sometimes find myself in an ev train with us all doing 70.I can't hold back that much on a clear motorway. It feels like I'm crawling.
I do find that I have to use ACC to keep my speed in check. If I don't then I'll soon be the other side of 80mph wondering where all my charge went!
One unexpected upside of travelling at 70mph is that it's quite relaxing as I'm not constantly finding people holding me up. I get to the end of a 350 mile journey noticeably less tired than I used to. It's a different sort of mind set to driving my old diesel. I'm getting quite used to it now and actually rather enjoy it.
