Hi, I bought my first EV, an MG5 in red, on May 1st from Luscombe's of Leeds.
I've been 'calibrating' / assessing 'real world' range to gain confidence. I've now done 850 miles total.
My first 2 trips were both 60 mile motorway runs, full fat, everything on at 70mph.
That left exactly 20% & 38 miles remaining, giving at total range of 158.
I live mid-way between Lincoln & Scunthorpe so most trips are country roads at 50 -60 mph, again full fat. The range hasn't been much more that the motorway stint, about 160 max.
My best miles/kW is only 3.8.
Luscombe's were helpful and managed to get an Exclusive in red at short notice (mainly because the promo deal ended at the end of April.)
I was concerned when I checked the tyre pressures after a couple of weeks that they were still set at 2.8bar instead of 2.2bar. I guess the PDI missed that....
I'm really enjoying EV driving, my other car is a new Dacia Duster and they are both much the same quality-wise, and image-wise, i.e. much improved from the old jokes.
I get my wall charger fitted this week, I've been using the nearest rapid charger, which is in a pub car park 5 miles away.....

The calibration process you mention sounds really useful.
There's plenty of data about range when Economy is the number one priority but you also want to know where you are when you are not thinking economy at all.

160 miles at 70mph seems about right. Air resistance increases at the square of velocity. If you want more range then drive slower. I've seen over 5 miles per kWh, equating to around 250 miles total range, when driving in traffic at 40-50mph.
