Hi all

After owning my Deluxe 77kwh for a couple of months, and mainly doing free charges at the supermarket's 22kw charger, I did a full overnight charge on my newly installed home charger (32A) I was impressed at the guesstimated range of 588kms in ECO mode (it's winter now, although really mild, usually not lower than 5 Celsius outside)

How much less range shall I expect for real world city driving? Is this first estimation based on my driving style these past two months, or mostly what everybody is getting on their 77 battery everywhere?

Cheers!

The guess of a range is somewhat redundant, as it is a guess of what you are going to do, how you are going to do it and under what circumstances you will do this, of which the onboard computer knows very little (as it is about the future ?)
As EVs are much more efficient than Ice, any change to any of the parameters affecting the factual range, will impact the guess much more.
Having said that, apart from current ambient temperature, wear and tear and battery SoH, only the consumption figures from the Total Accumulated trip counter is being used (which runs for the past 100 hours or from its being reset, I believe)
If you do not like the estimated range that the car gives you, reset the Total Accumulated and you will have a (probably total) different guess

Range estimate is based on the economy rate of your most recent driving. Head down a fast highway into a headwind and the range estimate will plummet quickly. Pootle around some lazy lanes at 50 km/h and range estimate will go right up.

This is my normalised range estimate (what the range estimate would be at 100% state of charge) over the past 30 days. I have the 64 kWh model:

Can see how much the range estimate varies.

e.g. when I leave my home, the first bit of road is 100km/h speed limit with a little hill I accelerate over right at the start. As a result that uses a fair bit of juice and the range estimate drops quickly.

Then the rest of the journey is often at more leisurely pace and so the range estimate increases as I drive. How much depends on where I'm going that day. If it's to a regional centre then not by much as a chunk of that trip is on 110 km/h road, while on other days if I head to a neighbouring town to take the dog to the beach, then the travel is slower and the range estimate climbs much more.
