Well, yesterday marked my first year owning the PFL long range. Overall it has been a good year in that I had the full DAB fix done and the car has performed well with good economy.
Apart from trying a Tesla open charger knowing it was unlikely to work, public charging has been fine. Until today..
Let's just say my first experience of Chargeplace Scotland wasn't a good one and I am now in a bar having a very expensive whisky as a consolation prize.
Tried 3 times on 3 chargers. All accepted the RFID card and connected but the car reported 'connected not charging'. Third time after unplugging I got the system fault notice and not able to put car in drive.
This wouldn't have phased me but this time the wife was with me and it was our first stop of an East to West Scotland road trip. While the fix was 5 mins, it was filled with the wife catasrophising and going through all eventualities leading to the trip ending and car in garage. While I knew that was highly unlikely, the resulting huff was more stressful than the anticipation of the car rebooting after battery reconnect.
Hence the whisky! Fingers crossed this is the only glitch of the week. Had the chargers worked, they would have been 31p per kWh so I don't regret trying..
