Folding in Door Mirror on tight roads

Hi All,

Ive a 72 plate MG4 Trophy. Does anyone know how to fold the wing mirrors in while driving forward at a slow speed? The road I attempt this on during my commute is a tight 2 way road. I use the wing mirror controller toggle and pushing that down folds the mirrors in while I go over a speed bump at 5mph. I'm still doing 5mph and then 3 secs later the mirrors unfold. But I don't want them to unfold as the road continues to be narrow and it's 2-way traffic. About 1 in 15 attempts to fold in the wing mirrors results in them staying folded but I've no clue what I've done differently to the other 14 attempts!

Has anyone had success at driving at low speed with the wing mirror folded in? Or can anyone shed some light on this quirk.

From page 67 of the user manual

Electric Folding *
When the vehicle is powered on, rotate the round knob to O position, and push the knob down.The door mirrors will be folded automatically. Pushing the knob downwards again will return the mirrors to their original position.
Note: While unlocking/locking the vehicle, the exterior rearview mirrors will be deployed/folded
automatically.
Note: Electrical folding door mirrors that have been moved from their positions by manual or accidental means it can be reset by operating the knob to complete fold and deployment one time.

All I can think of is that you either aren't pushing the knob down firmly enough or holding it down too long so it thinks you've pressed it for the second time.

Just tap the adjustment knob down quickly to fold the mirrors. They'll re-open themselves when you go faster than 10mph.
