Does disabling LKA also disable Front Detection/Anti Collision. I always have LKA disabled as it is easily confused and notice that I am able to get very close to things (walls, cars and people) when moving very slowly, without any warnings.

No it doesn't - you need to go to the setting for this each time and either turn off or set to Alert only. Part of my annoying but necessary pre-flight routine.

The anti-collision system will let you move slowly towards objects or even collide if moving slow enough.
Not sure what the actual speed is on the MG4 but generally it doesn't work below 10 mph on most vehicles.

As a parking aid, the rear collision alarm is the most useless I have ever seen on any car. Nothing happens till I actually stop then it decides to beep at me to inform me I'm about to hit something.
If they do ever decide to build self driving cars, they won't be using MG's software...

I find the reversing alarm works great, the 3 car (or what ever the green boxes mean) gap setting tends to slow the MG rapidly when it sees a truck travelling in the opposite direction rounding a bend ..... rather disconcerting when the vehicle suddenly transfers weight from the rear to the front part way into a corner ..... then when the truck has passed, the cruise control ramps up again .... while I'm still trying to negotiate the corner that has already changed from a nice smooth flowing bend to a mild panic trying to stay on the black stuff.

Other than that, the adaptive cruise control/panic braking seems to work well at that distance ..... except for when I'm in traffic, it leaves enough room for some moron to try and squeeze into the space they think has their name on it.

The first MG4 64 that was a total write off with very few kms on the clock (2,680km I think) had parking sensors added to the front bumper as well, I've been thinking of either adding the to this MG, or a bumper camera I can switch on when parking .... one with that handy green yellow red thing that turns as the steering turns ... love that on the rear parking camera :D
