Posting on behalf of my Dad who’s recently got an MG3 Hybrid - Currently working on installing a Garmin Dashcam Mini 2 and ceramic coating. Found the fuse box in the end, ran the cables but have failed to decide which fuses to piggy back off of….. Any help would be really useful.

It does seem a bit off that with two forward facing cameras on the car already and one reward-facing camera that they didn't just put a Micro SD card slot and have it part of the car, now that would be a good thing, and think of the saving on insurance premiums.

TBH it should be on all cars by .now.

If it could connect to the 360 system as well if it was a no fault they wouldn't have a leg to stand on, and it being part of the car it would need and have a large capacity memory.

You might need to be able to turn of the GPS portion for more spirited driving.

I have a dash cam in the Motorhome, mainly as peeps seem to think they can cut you up and brake check you, but I've never put it in the car so far.

Does anyone have a suggestion for the most suitable dash cam to fit to the MG3 hybrid. And also the best place to fight it. I've tried and and the the central of the screen, taken up by the forward camera housing, obscures the view

This is the Dash Cam I'm using, and it's perfectly fine.

I've put mine on the passenger side, it's behind the mirror from my point of view, so it doesn't distract me, and it's just plugged into the USB on the mirror housing. It comes on when I drive, and turns off when I stop, so I don't have to do anything else with it at all. It does slightly catch the mirror housing in the top right corner of the picture, but not enough to be a problem.

That looks good as it drops down the camera view, a friend of mine suggested a stickon slimline one but it just cut everything if to the right. What is the make of your dash cam

As I'm adding an amazon item, I bought this a while ago and I just bought another, it was great in the MoHo and the boss prefers to use google maps in the car on her iPhone (yes I know) and this just sits there on the dash behind the center screen.

Doesn't it slip around, or is it fixed?
It has a sticky pad so it is firmly fixed in place, it does come off easily if pulled from the edge if needed, ours started off in the van then into the car and back into the van I ordered another this morning so they can stay in place.

I think that you can wash the sticky but with WUL under the tap to bring back it's full stickiness but not confirmed it yet.

I got another as it is an option for putting the phone and you can also run two sat nags, the car one is a bit pants anyway, it works but only on a very basic level, G maps via AA is much more bettered and you can use the mic, in fact stupidly it is the only way you can use the mic.

Going off piste a bit, but I use Android Auto with Magic Earth as it is the only one that will use my Contacts onscreen, but still not ideal. What I can't get my head round is the lack of joined up thinking. If zi use my phone the car will access my phones contacts, but if I use the cars Sat Nav, you have to tediously enter each contact that you use regularly, although you can speed that up a bit if you enter the What4Words for each contact, which I painstakingly added to the Contracts on my phone because all Sat Nsv are so different.
