I've been given a quote of £660 to upgrade my consumer unit to; 18th edition Amd2 type A RCBO board and surge protection. Does that price sound right?

I got quoted £600 for a similar upgrade. Still thinking about it as I have the old wirelex fuse box too.

I have asked Checkatrade for some quotes, and one has already got back in touch saying it's a reasonable price.

Yes, mine cost £700 2 years ago to fit a crabtree 10 way metal board and 9 crabtree RCBO'S. It's nice to have one circuit trip when you have an earth fault instead of the whole power. RCBO'S have come down in price since then. Hope this helps. Mine was done by Approved Company so costs more.
